Merry Christmas from the Watkins Family

I'm a loser and procrastinated doing a holiday card this year. It took us 14 years to finally get a family photo and I waste time and not send anything out so I'm stuck sharing my family fun on my blog. Sorry! Here's a quick rundown of what we've been up to this year:

Paul has been busy with work. Fortunately for us his electrical company hasn't suffered due to the Vegas economy. Business has actually increased for him which is a huge blessing. He was able to go bear hunting this year and did a couple of deer hunts. Unfortunately, he didn't draw a deer tag for himself so he was stuck taking Tanner for his yearly hunt. How sad! I constantly tease him that he's pushing "40" since he will be 38 in January. Old age only makes you better, right? We love our dad and are so grateful for the provider, husband, dad, and lover of Disneyland that he is.

Kris is still teaching 4Th grade and absolutely loves her job. It's very close to home and she works with an awesome group of other teachers and has fantastic students. Who could complain about only working 180 days of the year? She's starting the grumbling process about possibly starting back to school in January, but she's still deciding. Kris keeps busy with work, running kids places, shopping, and just hanging out with the family.

Tanner is 15 and a sophomore in high school. Our boy has really blossomed into a fine young man. His dad promised him a car if he keeps his grades up and that's a goal he is taking seriously. He also enjoys going hunting with his dad, but didn't get a deer either this year. Tanner participates in scouts and loves anything that has to do with an Xbox. He is a good brother, except for the normal constant teasing of his sisters. We love him!

Madison is 10 and is in 5th grade. She is professionally trained in dance for more than 11 hours a week which is taking a toll on her, the entire family, and mom's checkbook! She loves it and gets to perform for the community many times a year. In February she will get to dance at Disneyland again. She also had the opportunity to dance with famous dancers at a convention here in town. Madison is a big help to us and is always entertaining her younger siblings. She will be receiving the Great American Award soon and enjoys participating in activity days with church.

Camryn is my precocious, daring, and hilarious 4 year old. If you're a reader of my blog you've heard the many stories of what Camryn has done or said. She is a character and lightens our day with her sweet demeanor. Camryn loves going to preschool and is gearing up for kindergarten next year. Camryn loves the computer and playing with her stuffed animals. Such a sweetie pie.

Jaxon will be 2 this coming January. What a sweet finale he is to our family! He makes us all laugh with his OCD tendencies and loves going to the park and playing outside. He's obsessed with Oswald the octopus and Weenie the dog...which is one of his favorite shows. When it's on he doesn't move. We had a scary moment with him in November when he got his finger stuck in the treadmill and tore off most of the skin on his thumb. He barely missed a tendon, but his fingers have healed very well. Jaxon is such a good lil' guy and loves to be loved.

I think this year was the traveling year since it seemed we were on the go more so than usual. We took a family cruise to the Mexican Riviera that consisted of Puerta Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlan, three trips to Disneyland, a parents trip to Cancun, Mexico, and a dancing trip to Laughlin, Nevada. I'm glad that our passports were put to good use in 2008!

Our family has been extremely blessed this year and are so grateful for the good health and the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us. I'm so fortunate to have a great family, great friends, and a wonderful life.

Merry Christmas to All and Have a Happy New Year

I had no idea your husband was a hunter...send him to Wisconsin, I get so tired of watching hunting shows...listening to hunting stories...the only hunting I like is good deals at the mall!
